As you prepare your submission and PowerPoint, the following questions may help you head in the right direction:
  • What is the total impact of your solution? Can you measure its impact and scale on the business and global community, as well as on individual lives?
  • Can you point to specific customers who have benefited and can articulate the positive impact they’ve achieved as a result of implementing your solution?
  • Is the solution innovative? Remember, we’re looking for break-out solutions that have the potential for positive global change and impact in the areas of healthcare, education, and the environment.


People's Choice Award is determined as follows:

  • At the conclusion of each monthly entry period and for the duration of each month's entry period, visitors to The Ingenuity Point site can visit the People's Choice Gallery.

  • Upon reviewing that month's validated entries, the visitor
    can post a vote for a specific entry by clicking on the 'Vote'
    link, and filling in the appropriate information.

  • Visitors are allowed one vote per calendar day per validated entry (identified by email address)

  • In the event of a tie in any monthly entry period, the tie will be broken in a random drawing.


Contest entries are evaluated on:
  • Ability to solve a customer’s challenge(s).
    25% of score.

  • Relevance to chosen vertical.
    20% of score

  • Effective use of chosen platform technology &
    interoperability.
    20% of score

  • Potential for worldwide impact making the world
    a better place.
    20% of score

  • Innovation and creativity.
    15% of score

The judging process . . . what to expect

Entries will be evaluated by a panel of Microsoft judges with expertise in Healthcare, Education and Clean Technology.

At the end of each entry period, the judging board will review all submitted entry forms and PowerPoint presentations. Following a one hour live meeting with the chosen finalists, they will select one Gold Ingenuity Point Award winner for each Vertical — three total — to be featured in The Ingenuity Point Showcase. At the end of the entire contest, the judges will choose one Gold award winner to receive our Platinum Ingenuity Point Award.
